6 days to go

We are excited and getting ready to go. Making and checking lists. We probably have about 10 teachers in all who are participating in SEA this year. We are divided between 5 churches. We have gotten our church assignments and our curriculum. The curriculum looks very easy. We will be teaching from it in the mornings and then after lunch there will be games and activities which will mainly be led by our Teaching Assistants.

Mike and Lindsey return on the 28th and I will return Aug 6th. After Hong Kong I will be traveling to Mongolia with 11 other people from one of the local Hong Kong Churches. This should be a very interesting trip. The missionaries there are excited to have us come. I will probably stand out being the only American in the group. I am both excited and apprehensive about this trip. I am in an email loop with the Hong Kong people and am seeing all their contacts with those we will be meeting. I could be sleeping in a sleeping bag for a week!! but for those who have done SEA that will be not much harder than the beds in the dorm. I think the Chinese like Hard mattresses. Also, the custom is to only have one bath a week and at the most two. we are being asked to follow that custom. I have to say I vainly worry most about my hair--just how bad will it look. Though I see by the emails that the Hong Kong ladies feel just like me. I guess we will all be in the same boat. Mike is really regretting that he is not going on this part of the trip.

I will try to post something each day. I know this will not be a problem in Hong Kong, but in Mongolia I do not know. I am sure I can find this out before I leave for Mongolia.

Keep us in your prayers. Also pray for the entire program. The churches in Hong Kong have always been very active along with the OMF people, in coordinating this program. This year they are totally in charge of everything. This will be a great teaching and stretching time for all.

As I was reading your Blog I had an immediate "flashback" of Hong Kong; sights, sounds, smells, everything all at once. I will miss not being there but the girls and I will pray for the Lord's travel mercies and for the SEA program. McKendra was actually talking to Stefanie today, one of students at SEA last summer. They talk on MSN both with their web cams and microphones on. We will pray for the Lord to prepare the children's hearts to hear your message.
